Oh Lord. There are so many horrible aspects to this movie from the messages it sends of tolerating domestic abuse and electro shock therapy) to its implausible scenarios of loyal love toward someone who threatens her so graphically. It is hard to believe that the father/ex wife romance actually has brought on the psychosis. Still it has its moments. I liked the idea of trying to be strong in tolerating loneliness while really wanting to embrace love and commitment toward someone

I like Joan Crawford much much more than all of her contemporaries, at the same level with Norma Shearer.

I recall reading that Woody Strode and Lee Marvin, between shoots on The Professionals, were lucky not to be jailed when Vegas cops caught them drunkenly shooting arrows from Strode's bow at the famous neon cowboy sign.

Horrible casting in Alan Ladd here. Plus, there's not enough of the Black Knight being a hero and swinging into action. This movie goes on just way too long. Skip this. Really awful.

These 1950s Columbia swashbucklers are always entertaining. Does anyone have a rare Republic swashbuckler called The Avengers? Made in Argentina for Republic Studios in 1950 and starred John Carroll. Havent seen it for years but remember it as great fun.
